Things do not look good in Basra. This is the telling point in the ability of the Iraqi government troops to stand up. And they are not looking good. Sixteen thousand of these troops are police and closer to the Mahdi Army than the government. What a fucking mess!
One of Iraq’s two main oil pipelines blown up

"Saboteurs blew up one of Iraq’s two main oil export pipelines in southern Iraq on Thursday, a Southern Oil Company official told Reuters.
”This morning saboteurs blew up the pipeline transporting crude from Zubair 1 by placing bombs beneath it. The pipeline was severely damaged,” the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. "
”Crude exports will be greatly affected because this is one of two main pipelines transporting crude to the southern terminals. We will lose about a third of crude exported through Basra,” he said. Iraq exported 1.54 million barrels per day from Basra in February."

I feel that we, as citizens of the United States, are losing our preciouse civil rights. Our government has been corrupted by partisionship and paper patriotism. Our Constitution is being trampled.

My reading is varied. I subscribe to: The New Yorker magazine, Wired magazine, and the Freedom From Religion Foundation newsletter. My favorite novels are Catcher in the Rye, Catch 22, Huckleberry Finn, and One Hundred Years of Solitude. I watch: The Lehrer Report, The Daily Show, Southpark, The Simpsons and just about anything on PBS.
I am a member of MoveOn, American Civil Liberties Union, the Denver Botanic Gardens, The Denver Art Museum and Freedom From Religion Foundation.
I feel that it is my responsibility, as a concerned citizen, to speak out and share the truth.

I live in Denver, Colorado. I believe that the separation of the church and state is a very important concept in our Constitution. Our civil rights are being trampled by this administration. My civil rights are rapidly receeding as Big Brother continues to watch.
